Living in Gloucestershire is amazing

Without a shadow of a doubt one of the best counties to live in is Gloucestershire. It’s capital Gloucester is one of most cosmopolitan of places with a rich heritage that dates back to the Roman times. The county is the living embodiment of the Green and pleasant land that England is famous for with it’s rolling Cotswold hills, thick woods like the Forest of Dean and the agricultural land that gives it its hedgerows and shape.

There is the great Cathedral in Gloucester itself or the historic docks and Waterways Museum to visit. Outside of the city there are hundreds of picturesque villages to wander such as Bourton on the Water or the Slaughters (not as nasty as they sound!). There are also marvellous Market towns like Cirencester and Stow on the Wold. There is a deep Royal connection with Highgrove House, the home of Prince Charles and Gatcombe the residence of Princess Anne.

The county is also served with excellent road links like the M5 that makes Bristol and Birmingham within easy reach and the A40 that opens up the road to Oxford and London.
